Julep March Box

1
COM

For March's box I used up Julep points to get three add-ons. And so they sent me a freebie. Hooray for freebies.

The box itself came with three polishes...at least that is how I arranged it. Here's what I picked:

Marcy
Prosecco silk (semi-matte opalescent)

Jahnavi
Iced chai chrome

Lucky
Kelly green and gold coin multi-dimensional, full coverage glitter

For the add-ons, I picked:

Get In Line Invisible Lip Liner
Fluid Eye Glider
CTRL + Z Eye Makeup Eraser

The freebie I got as a result of picking three add-ons was "Francis"
which is described as "Celery green crème"

Here's what the add-ons looked like out of their boxes:

And swatches of the polishes:

My favorite in this box?
The Silk Finish polish, Marcy.
You can't tell from the swatch, but it's covers decently considering it's so pale, and it dries to a neat "silk" finish.

That said, I haven't tried the add-ons yet, so they might be awesome. As usual, if they are, I'll do another post.

Julep - February Box

1
COM

This month's Julep box was jam packed!

Someone was a good monkey because she got extras *beams*
Several bottles of this month's freebie, Hartleigh to be exact.

In this box:
Hartleigh - heart holo glitter
Colton - cream black lavender
Becky - silk finish indigo
Illume Face & Eye Brightener

Colton on left, Becky on right

The freebie, Hartleigh

A swatch of Becky

Supposedly it's a silk finish but I didn't notice that. It's nice in any case.

One coat of Hartleigh.

Two coats of Hartleigh

And one coat of Colton.
It's so dark, basically black, but bleeds the lavender color you see on my pinky.

I've not gotten a chance to try out Illume, but it looks good, too!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great month <3

Julep Box - January

1
COM

For January's Julep Box, I picked a special collection and I'm so pleased with it.

In the box was:

  • Elixer Argan oil
  • Bare Face Cleansing Oil
  • Luxe Lip Conditioning Treatment
  • Special free top coat

The top coat gives any polish a mother of pearl look. Sorry for the lack of pictures on that one...I pulled the polish off when I swatched February's box :/

I adore Julep's bare face cleansing oil. This stuff is better than baby oil at getting make-up off, and it doesn't leave an oily finish. I highly suggest it for removing everything, even stuck on eyeliner & mascara.

The elixir is...well, Argan oil. So if you like that, you'll like this.

And the lip conditioning treatment seems to do a good job, but like any lip treatment, if you use it for a while, you'll probably have to keep using it...or something otherwise you lips will become chapped.

Thanks for reading! <3

Julep - October Box

3
COM

This month I personalized my box and got the following for $24.99:

  • Julep Nail Color - Nancy (left)
  • Julep Nail Color - Ledi (right)
  • Night Shift Sleeping Mask

Here's a swatch of Ledi:

Here's a swatch of Nancy:

I haven't had a chance to try the mask yet. Ledi looked pretty much like black with perhaps a latex-like effect. Since I already have a black latex that looks much better than this, Ledi isn't interesting enough to keep. It will go in an upcoming giveaway. I haven't made up my mind about Nancy yet. I think I already have a sage metallic. We'll see...

I haven't been loving the color options with Julep for a long time, and have been leaning toward the makeup products instead of polishes. Then the makeup products end up sitting on my table unopened, or used once because they can't displace the other products I've come to love. I'll likely use up my next box credit (I had to prepay for three months of personalized boxes), and then cancel.

Julep - June "My Maven" Box

1
COM

Julep started a new deal in June called "My Maven". Julep Mavens can now customize their boxes.

The catch? It costs $5 more a month and is charged every three months instead of monthly and there is no downgrading once you've upgraded. They don't warn you of that before you try it out, so beware!

I went ahead and upgraded because most months I found I only wanted half of any given box.

Here's what I picked this month:
  • Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat
  • Phia - "Alluring orchid iridescent chrome"
  • Jennine - Star Dust Finish - "Full-coverage borealis blue stardust (matte glitter)"

Here are the polishes (with Editor Cat looking on):

And swatches of them (alternating Jennine and Phia from left to right):

The Stardust finish has a sandy feel to it, but unlike most glitters, this one comes off fairly easily. That's a huge plus in my book :)

I've yet to try out the oxygen base coat, but if it's miraculous, I'll be sure to post about it :)

This week's mani

1
COM

I wanted to do a mani to match my new, cheap ring. I thought gold would match, but not so much. In any case, it's a pretty nice mani.

Here's what I used:
  • Julep "Sienna" (goldish metallic)
  • Maybelline Color Show "Rich in Ruby" (red metallic)
  • Stamp plate: BM-319

Here's swatches of Tatum and Sunny:
