TheBalm Betty-Lou Manizer

Betty-Lou Manizer is something I've always wanted in my make up collection because it's freaking gorgeous! I got this one from Hiiyooitscat and am so glad she found this for such a great deal. If you haven't tried theBalm products before, you are missing out. They are amazing.

The packaging is pretty as always and doesn't feel cheap (like it would break easily).
I'm a sucker for gold colors. This is a highly pigmented bronzer, that can be used as more than just bronzer. I've seen people use it as eye shadow, highlight (with a very light hand) and you can use it in nail polish as well.
As you can tell, theBalm products tend to be very pigmented. This is only one swipe for the above swatch. It blends out beautifully and will be one of my favorites to use whenever I wear make up.

This is another goodie I got from the swap from Hiiyooitscat. This one is more of a duo chrome type finish. It looks slightly black, but depending on the angle you can see a green tint to it.

Granted, the lighting on this isn't the best but it wasn't terribly bright in any lighting. I can't imagine this color would work well as a eye shadow on my complexion but it should be good for blush/shimmer. It had a faint goldish hue to it that was nice.

Nail Mitt Before

The package claimed it was a "lavender nail lacquer remover finger mitts." It had a very faint floral scent beneath the usual acetone scent.  I tested this out on the manicure you see in the thebalm photo two above.

Here's the result. It did clear off all ten nails pretty well. But for $2 a pop (6 for $12), I think I'll stick with my bottle of nail polish remover--even at the loss of the faint floral scent.

Harvey Prince Skinny Chic

This is a nice sized perfume sample. Skinny Chic isn't an overpowering scent. The package describes it as: "Green Apple, Sweet Mint and Warm Amber" I don't notice any mint (which is a good thing) but the combination of green apple and warm amber is lovely. I will definitely use up this entire tube :)

My™ Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer

While this moisturizer did cut down on shine and it did seem to moisturize, it made my skin burn a little at first. The scent was nothing to write home about. At $68 a tube, there is no way I'll be buying this.

amika Color pHerfection Shampoo

I've yet to try this product... I'll do a specific post about it if it turns out to be amazing ;)

This post has taken so long because my camera battery died. And then once it was charged I never got a photo of this bag. I know, excuses excuses. Above is the image from Ipsy's site. I did NOT get the mascara. They sent the brow gel instead.

Anyhow, here's my review:

  • Starlet Intense Eyeliner
    • A full eyeliner pencil came in this box. Shade is "chocolate". It's closer to reddish brown than any chocolate I've come across. That would be a sweet shade...for just about anything other than eyeliner. It ends up getting lost in every shadow combination I've tried. I'm also not a fan of pencils because I suck at sharpening them.
  • Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Millionaire
    • I was excited for this one because it was a full bottle of polish. But then I recalled I'm not a fan of glitters. This is like confetti in a bottle. If that sounds good to you, then by all means, grab some. (Check out picture below)
  • bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss
    • The color isn't too bad. The size was sweet. It might not be a full stick but it's definitely not a puny sample. Consistency ok. It doesn't last any longer on my lips than any of my other lipgloss (basically its gone after sipping any drink). It has a cool, tingly feel after a few seconds. I'm not sure why but its not uncomfortable, it's just a little strange.
  • Chella Defining Eyebrow Gel
    • This has a slightly chemical odor to it kind of like nail polish or remover. It comes in a smallish tube with a wire brush very similar to mascara. I assume I'm supposed to whisk it along my brow. So I did. The scent fades as it dries. But as far as I can tell this does absolutely nothing for me. To be fair, I don't have a whole lot of brow to gel.
  • theBalm Meet Matt(e) eyeshadow palette in Matt Batali
    • Have yet to try this one. It's a bit dark. I haven't been that brave.
